E-Bike Store To Open New Store In Brentwood
A growing e-bike business is to open a new store in Brentwood, Essex, after signing a lease with leading commercial property and investment company LCP.
The Electric Bike Shop has agreed a 10-year lease for 63 High Street, a 2378 sq ft shop in the heart of the town, and it hopes to open some time this month (September).
Alan Fowler, business development manager-director of the business, which has six other stores across England, said four local jobs will be created in store, while others will be created to support the shop.
"We chose Brentwood High Street because it is an affluent area and within commuting distance on an e-bike to central London. We were already delivering bikes to this area through our online and telesales avenues, so it was logical to give Brentwood a bricks and mortar store." he said.
"Brentwood also has good access for the M25, covering north east London and Hertfordshire, as well.
"The store team, led by Paul Jackson as the store manager, have all been in the cycling industry for many years but most of all are cyclists themselves. As a business, we want to get as many people cycling and commuting by bike as we can."
Claudia Gasparro, asset manager at LCP, said: "Attracting The Electric Bike Shop to Brentwood is great news for the town centre because it will not only bring a fresh dimension to the local leisure scene but also bring welcome jobs to the community."
The shop will sell all e-bikes from the popular manufacturers, including Cube, Raleigh, Haibike, Tern, Gocycle and Babboe, as well as accessories. It will also offer repairs and servicing.
