Cycle Shop With Cafe To Open In Dorking
A new cycle shop is opening in Dorking after The Cycle Collective agreed a five-year lease for unit 1a in St Martins Walk Shopping Centre.
The shop, which is being opened by Stefan Fuchs, aims to deliver an exciting retail experience to riders who are interested in road and gravel disciplines, as well as those who are considering e-bikes for recreation and commuting.
As well as its two major suppliers, Cannondale & Pinarello, it will also stock parts, accessories and clothing, while a comprehensive workshop will provide servicing and repairs to all cycles, custom foot bed fitting and, in the future, a complete bike fitting service.
The Cycle Collective will feature Regroup, its own coffee bar that it hopes will be the cornerstone to the cycling community. It has even developed its own house roast and will be keeping its menu seasonal, with modern coffee-based drinks, such as cold brew tonics, nitro coffee and a pour over coffee that is not often found in cafes in and around Dorking.
We aim to be a convenient hub for riders to come and enjoy a hot or cold drink, meet up with friends and club members or a place to grab those essentials,"" said Stefan, who is embarking on his first retail store opening.
"
"Cyclists are not our only customers but anyone who is a discerning coffee fanatic and longs for a flavourful and floral roast with plenty of fruit forward notes. As we become more established, we are keen to host some coffee journey evenings, showcasing how to craft the speciality coffees we serve."
Welcoming The Cycling Collective to St Martins Walk, asset manager Ed Tuckett said: "It's great news that we have attracted an ambitious local entrepreneur who is keen to bring something a little different to the community here in Dorking."
The coffee shop has already opened and the shop opens on Friday, April 8.
St Martins is a thriving small shopping centre, anchored by Marks & Spencer. There are 26 units and a car park with spaces for about 400 vehicles.
