NEW ROLE AT THE CONCOURSE25/04/2016
An experienced marketer who has enjoyed fun extras roles in Hollyoaks and in a new film starring Ray Winstone is hoping to take on a starring role at the Concourse Shopping Centre in Skelmersdale after being appointed retail marketing manager.
Jennifer Burnett joins the centre, which is owned and managed by London & Cambridge Properties, from industrial services company Hertel, where she managed the marketing activities for the UK and Ireland.
The 32-year-old, who has recently been filmed at a boxing match scene in the film Jawbone, which is released later this year, has more than ten years’ marketing experience, having worked at various retailers’ head offices including Boots, Ryman Stationery, and Craghoppers outdoor clothing.
With the £10 million transformation of the Concourse Centre planned and The Light Cinema confirming its commitment to opening an eight-screen cinema, Jennifer, who lives in Wirral with husband Keith, said it was an exciting time to join the shopping centre.
“My main aim is to increase footfall to the Concourse by encouraging more shoppers to come here more often and to stay here for longer by promoting the variety the Concourse has to offer,” she said.
“There are a lot of independent stores at the centre, which is great, and I want to celebrate that by helping them to promote themselves and looking at ways they can work alongside the bigger chain retailers here.
“The new cinema and restaurants that are planned give us the perfect opportunity to attract new customers and create an appealing destination in which to shop and socialise. The plans for Concourse are very exciting and I’m pleased to be able to play a role as the developments unfold.”
Welcoming Jennifer to Concourse, centre manager Gary Mitchell said:
“Jennifer brings with her a wealth of retail and marketing experience and she has many ideas on how we can work with both our retailers and customers. We’re all looking forward to developing those ideas so that the Concourse becomes a destination of choice for locals and people from further afield.”
